Record: Eupalinos, or the Architect (001)

This edition offers a new English translation of Eupalinos ou l’ architecte, by Paul Valéry (1871 – 1945). The work was written as introduction, entitled ‘Dialogue of the dead’, for the monumental publication ‘Architectures: recueil publié sous la direction de Louis Süe & André Mare; comprenant un dialogue de Paul Valéry et la présentation d’ouvrages d’architecture, decoration intérieure, peinture, sculpture et gravure, contribuant depuis mil neuf cent quatorze à former le style français’, edited by Louis Suë (1875 – 1968) and André Mare (1885 – 1932). The book was published in Paris by Éditions de la Nouvelle Revue Française in 1921, it has entered the public domain and it is available online with open access on Archive.org (https://archive.org/details/Architectures00).
